Message from the President, Sally Deane

Hello WITT Members & Friends
 

What a great evening for the Trade With a Difference night on 3 May at Brookfield Vineyard!  43 attended with 15 women showcasing their tourism businesses. Thanks to Helen and her wonderful staff from Brookfield spoilt us! 

2010 kicked off to a great start with our first function of the year held at Customs House.  Our WITT committee had organised an full evening for members and friends - we had over 45 guests come along!

We held a networking session with a "difference". Members were grouped into small groups of 4 or 5 and had the opportunity to meet and make new contacts and friends. 

As you know our nominated charity for 2009/10 is Breast Cancer Network Australia. We were absolutely delighted to with the response to Monday's silent auction, raising $750 for BCNA. 
 

Again, a huge thanks to all the overwhelming support from our Sponsors who help make WITT events fun and assist WITT raise money for our nominated charity.  We have listed all the people and sponsors on the right hand column, please check out their websites!

We understand the importance of the Tasmanian tourism industry to our members. In November 2009 we did an quick online survey to help the WITT Committee understand our members' needs.

We asked members to rate their level of support for - networking; mentoring; to encourage and educate members & people entering the industry; whether WITT should participate in political lobbying & debate and, whether or not we should support a nominated charity.

Interestingly, the survey revealed members clearly supported networking opportunities and, for WITT to encourage & educate members.  In the question relating to type of events or fourms, members said they preferred an evening or ean ducational forums.  A full copy of the results is attached for you.
